"What matters is that you do good work. What matters is that you produce things that are true and will stand. … What matters is not the perception, nor the fashion, not who's up and who's down, but what someone has done and if they meant it. What matters is that you want to see and make and do, on as grand a scale as you want, regardless of what the tiny voices of tiny people say. …It is a fuckload of work to be open-minded and generous and understanding and forgiving and accepting, but Christ, that is what matters. What matters is saying yes.
I say yes, and Wayne Coyne says yes, and if that makes us the enemy, then good, good, good. We are evil people because we want to live and do things. But I say yes because I am curious. I want to see things. Saying no is so fucking boring. And if anyone wants to hurt me for that, or dismiss me for that, for saying yes, I say Oh do it, do it you motherfuckers, finally, finally, finally. "

I used to be very messy and close to a hoarder.
I dated a girl who had her entire floor covered in junk, with her bed a tiny island in it. While I lived with her I kept a separate room completely empty and slept there. I am often clean in reaction to mess, but messy on my own.
It has worked for me to internalize that I do not want more things, more stuff or junk in my life. Instead, getting rid of things is a great celebration. Paring back is the game. Not buying things is the game.
I just cleaned my desk. I do this every time my Robot Ben Franklin reminds me about cleanliness. -
MIT lab full of interfaces experiments and ideas. This is what filmmakers should mine for ideas – why shouldn't the pillows of the future tell us our long-distance boyfriend is also sleeping. Or more importantly, that he didn't sleep in his bed last night…

There also seems to be some thing called eclim but I can't be bothered with it if it's going to make things more complicated. -

These zombies are the worst kind of zombies – they want more than just your brains. Zombism as an STD.

Chris Rae has his phone text his wife when he is near the bottom of the lift so they can meet up. A very cool and smart use of mobile software.
Chris wrote this application for windows mobile called "Proximity" and it does stuff when you are getting close to a destination. He first wrote it to keep from missing his train stop, but here he uses it to solve the ski lift waiting problem…

This is not the html5 I was hoping for…
Smokescreen is a great idea – a javascript/html5 player for flash files. This means that now you could use this stuff on your ipad or pod or whatever. -
A great idea – language lesson flashcards created in an open way with a free content license. Looks like it is really easy to create a language lesson or to take one. I tried the spanish one and did well!
